Safari

Updated: Mar 30

It’s hard to put into words what I feel now on the safari. Wonderment, excitement, fear, intrigue. I am at an amazing lodge, having an incredible experience, and joined by a wonderful Canadian family on my safari tours. We have seen so much wildlife in less than one full day. The Canadian family is such a loving and caring family and have adopted me into their party.

They hold no ill will against me as an American. We bash Trump together. Parents, two sons, one girlfriend of the straight sone, and one gay son. So nice to be so open and free while with them.

Seeing these animals in their own land is so incredible. Watching 2 baby lions play with one another this morning, and also spotting a baby leopard was so adorable. Watching lions yesterday devour an impala was both disgusting and interesting.

I am not allowed to leave my lodge at night without an armed guard, as rhinos and leopards roam the grounds. I passed 2 rhinos last night with the guard. As I write this I am looking out my door and a pack of impalas are strutting by.

Of all the animals I have seen the giraffe is the most majestic, I hope to see more later today.

It’s getting harder and harder to push of the thoughts of returning to America and work. I’m trying my best.
