Canberra is a beautiful city, established to manage the federal government of Australia, nestled in the foothills between Sydney and Melbourne. It’s a beautiful place, a very high standard of living, and provided me with relief from the intense heat and sun of Perth and Sydney.
I struggled with gout during my stay here (One really painful evening), but in general, really enjoyed my time.
And I won a trophy.

On the right is my doubles partner Ian and in the middle is the adorable Geoff, tournament director extraordinaire. And super cuddly may I add.
We had a washout on Friday and Geoff did an amazing job getting us back on schedule. Ian and I did our best to keep the tournament going as long as possible, as we were the last match to finish. Unfortunately, we did lost the finals in a very close match. But I had a wonderful time and played very well on Sunday.
I’m packing up this morning to head out to Melbourne. Excited to have a 2 week Airbnb to unpack my bags for awhile.
Canberra was highlighted by tennis, National Museum, Arboretum, more tennis, and 2 really wonderful social events, and meeting Geoff.
Below are some of my favorite pictures:
