Have you ever had that feeling that when you go travel somewhere that you have meant to be there? Sydney, so far, is just amazing. Start with the stunningly beautiful day yesterday. Low 80’s no humidity, beautiful wind off the water. The parks here are just beautiful, the harbor is beautiful and the Opera House does not disappoint.
I am even planning on confronting my fear of heights and walking on top of the Harbor Bridge.

The last few days have been transformative. First of all, I have flown 10,000 miles, and found myself in a new continent. The United flight was much easier than I throught it would be. I slept for 9 hours on the plane. The service was great, The food was just adequate. If you bother to pre-select the meal, they should actually cook what’s they stated they were going to cook.
The seat was great, allowed me to sleep for extended periods of time, and I watched several shows. I had a weird guy in front of me that wanted to engage. I’m usually approachable, but I have learned to keep my distance on a plane unless you are really sure of the person.
When I arrived at my hotel - the Sheraton Grand Hyde Park - i was upgraded to a wonderful room with a view of Hyde Park. While they were getting the room ready I decided to take a walk and went to the first place that everyone who comes here to visit goes to… The Opera House. One of those world class sightings that does not disappoint.
After I nice lunch down by the water, I headed back to the hotel to unpack and unwind. I ended up relaxing on the roof deck, and taking a beautiful walk through Hyde Park.

My new friend Huey then arranged for a group of us to play tennis. Most of the guys play in divisions above me, but I do have to say I held my own as Huey and I made a comeback from being down 1-5 to winning 7-5. One of the opponents is a German named Alexander who seems to be playing down a division. Anyways, he is the number 1 seed and I am the number 2 seed, so naturally I want to destroy him!!!
Meet Huey..

After the match, came back to hotel and had a wonderful dinner at Mother Cho’s Vegetarian Kitchen. I will explain the whole vegetarian thing another time. For now, I’m off to explore!!!
